The butterfly gardens that we started out at were absolutely amazing. An entire room filled with all sorts of butterflies who would flock to you the second you walked in. The guide also showed us a very cool trick: she said that if you put banana on your finger or somewhere on your body the butterfly will sit and rest on your finger or forehead for example. So, needless to say all 19 of us girls got very creative and put banana on our foreheads and noses and took some amazing photos! (I don't have my camera with me right now, but when I do I'll be sure to upload all the photos.)
After butterflies we went tubing down the river and it was freeing. Nothing else really to say, except for the fact that it was super cold and super fun.
Then, after tubing was when the real adventure began. It started raining right as we were getting ready to go on the hike. All of us had just changed out of our wet clothes into dry ones, so going back into the rain was one of the last things we wanted to do, but none of us wonted to turn down an adventure like the one that lay ahead of us! So we got in our rain gear, rode in the bed of a "taxi truck" and found our way at the trail that lead to a waterfall hidden in the jungle. At this point it was pouring rain and we were all soaked just enjoying the view and soaking up every bit of the adventure. We repelled down a face of the trail and at one point even paved our own way to the waterfall. It was so fun being soaked and trekking through the jungle to such an amazing view.
